Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Business Objects Security Programmer Analyst to support State of Michigan reporting and BI security environments. This is a hybrid contract role based in Lansing, MI. The resource will focus on Business Objects security, report/universe administration and deployment, access management and DevOps-oriented deployment workflows, as well as maintenance of Microsoft PowerPlatform solutions.
Location & Schedule:
- Work location: 530 West Allegan Street, Lansing, MI 48933
- Hybrid schedule: Must be onsite from day 1. Required onsite days: Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. NO remote-only option.
- Local candidates within 1 hour of Lansing, MI strongly preferred. Non-local candidates must be willing to relocate within 1 hour of Lansing at their own expense with no delays and adhere to the hybrid schedule.

Interview Process:

Responsibilities:
- Design, configure and maintain Business Objects security (access control, user/group permissions, folder/report security).
- Design and maintain universes and assist with report deployment and lifecycle management.
- Perform access management tasks, conduct security audits, and manage form processing related to BI access.
- Develop and maintain SQL scripts and batch processes to support reporting and automation.
- Collaborate with DevOps practices to support deployment workflows and promote repeatable, auditable deployments for BI artifacts.
- Maintain Microsoft PowerPlatform solutions (Power BI reports/dashboards, PowerApps, Power Automate flows).
- Document processes clearly and accurately, provide analytical troubleshooting and customer-facing support for users and stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Working knowledge of Business Objects security, universe design, and report deployment.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with batch scripting.
- Experience performing access management and security audits.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and deployment workflows for BI artifacts.
- Experience maintaining Microsoft PowerPlatform (Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate).
- Strong documentation, analytical, troubleshooting and customer support skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with MIDB (Oracle), CMOD, and HR data environments.
- Experience supporting government or regulatory environments.
- Familiarity with .NET development and basic code maintenance.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 per year (Estimated)
