Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with a focus on API integrations to join our team. This role involves analyzing complex data flows, defining API contracts, and bridging the gap between business needs and engineering solutions. You will work in an Agile/Scrum environment, creating user stories and participating in sprint planning. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and data formats like JSON and XML.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for API integrations.
- Define API contracts, endpoints, payload structures, headers, and error handling models.
- Create and maintain API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
- Develop data mapping and transformation rules for seamless system integrations.
- Analyze data flows and complex data models to identify integration opportunities and challenges.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of API solutions.
- Work within Agile/Scrum methodologies, creating user stories, participating in sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
- Use JIRA for defect tracking and API issue triaging.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, bridging the gap between business and technical teams.
- Understand SDLC processes and system analysis best practices.
- Ensure the quality and performance of API integrations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong experience as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with a focus on API integrations.
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, SOAP services, JSON, and XML data formats.
- Experience creating API documentation using Swagger / OpenAPI.
- Ability to define API contracts, endpoints, payload structures, headers, and error handling models.
- Strong experience in data mapping, transformation rules, and system integrations.
- Experience analyzing data flows and complex data models.
- Familiarity with SQL, Kafka, AWS, or similar data/streaming technologies is a plus.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, creating user stories and participating in sprint planning.
- Experience using JIRA for defect tracking and API issue triaging.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge business and engineering teams.
- Understanding of SDLC processes and system analysis best practices.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $80,000 – $120,000 per year (Estimated)
