Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Cloud Lead Developer for a critical contract position. This role requires a seasoned professional with over 13 years of total experience in the IT industry and a minimum of 8 years specifically focused on application development and systems testing. As a lead, you will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of cloud-native applications within a complex enterprise environment. This position is remote-friendly but requires strict adherence to compliance and security standards, including CMS security clearance and specific residency requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of cloud-native applications using Java/Java EE and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Architect and implement resilient, high-availability, and fault-tolerant systems leveraging the Cloud Well-Architected Framework.
  • Manage and build AWS-based solutions across compute, storage, and serverless domains including EC2, Lambda, S3, EKS, and DynamoDB.
  • Oversee CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and architects to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives and Medicare-specific standards.
  • Perform code reviews and monitor CI/CD pipelines to maintain high code quality and security standards.
  • Implement robust logging and monitoring solutions using Splunk, CloudWatch, and X-Ray.

Technical Requirements

  • Extensive experience with AWS services including VPC, IAM, API Gateway, CloudFormation, and Secrets Manager.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation.
  • Strong background in security and compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP.
  • Experience with Section 508 accessibility and WCAG standards.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/ECS/Fargate).

Compliance & Screening

Due to the nature of the project, candidates must undergo a credit check during the pre-screening process. Additionally, CMS security clearance and residency requirements apply; candidates must have resided in the United States for at least 3 of the past 5 years. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is mandatory. This role is ideal for a leader who can navigate complex regulatory environments while delivering cutting-edge cloud solutions.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $185,000 – $240,000 per year (Estimated)
