Job Description: Cloud Network Architect (GCP)
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Network Architect to design, implement, and manage the network infrastructure within our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. This role is crucial for ensuring secure, high-speed, and reliable connectivity for our applications and services, bridging our physical offices with the cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
- Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) Design: Architect and implement robust VPC designs, including network segmentation and isolation strategies to enhance security and prevent the spread of issues across different business units.
- Hybrid Connectivity Management: Oversee and manage the seamless integration of on-premises infrastructure with Google Cloud. This includes configuring and maintaining high-speed connections such as Cloud Interconnect and Cloud VPN to ensure efficient data migration and ongoing operations.
- Traffic Control and Load Balancing: Design and implement strategies for managing high volumes of user traffic, including the configuration of load balancing solutions to ensure optimal performance, availability, and automatic routing to the healthiest server instances.
- Network Security Implementation: Collaborate closely with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Security teams to deploy and manage network security measures, including Cloud Armor for threat protection and firewalls for access control, adhering to Zero Trust principles.
- Cost Optimization: Continuously monitor network traffic and data flow to identify and eliminate unnecessary costs associated with data transfer between regions or to the internet.
Required Qualifications:
- Networking Expertise: Proven understanding of traditional networking concepts (cables, routers, switches) and modern software-defined networking (SDN) principles within cloud environments.
- GCP Network Specialization: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with GCP networking services, including Shared VPCs, Cloud DNS, and Service Directory.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex network performance issues, identify bottlenecks, and trace network paths effectively.
- Security-First Mindset: A strong commitment to security best practices, with experience in designing and implementing Zero Trust network architectures.
This role requires a proactive individual who can translate complex networking challenges into scalable and secure cloud solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year
