Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Cloud System Administrator to manage our AWS-hosted environments, supporting application deployments and platform operations. This role is crucial for bridging infrastructure, DevOps, and application support to ensure the stability, security, and automation of our web platforms. The position is an onsite contract role located in Irvine, CA.
Key Responsibilities (High-Level)
- AWS Infrastructure Administration
- Manage EC2-based environments across Development (DEV), Quality Assurance (QA), Staging (STG), and Production (PRD) tiers.
- Configure and maintain essential AWS security components, including security groups, Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles, and instance profiles.
- Provide support for Application Load Balancer (ALB), Route 53, and Simple Storage Service (S3) integrations.
- Monitor instance health, system performance, and resource utilization.
- Assist with system patching, operating system hardening, and security best practices.
- Support post-migration stabilization efforts following lift-and-shift cloud migration projects.
- Deployment & CI/CD Support (Jenkins)
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing Jenkins pipelines for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Support the automation of build processes and application deployments.
- Diagnose and resolve failures within CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage environment configurations specific to release cycles.
- Contribute to improving deployment reliability and implementing effective rollback procedures.
- SSL Certificate Lifecycle & Automation
- Manage the entire lifecycle of SSL certificates, including generation, installation, and renewals.
- Maintain the integrity of the certificate chain and intermediate validation processes.
- Develop and implement automation for SSL certificate review and expiration monitoring.
- Identify and implement improvements to the certificate management process within the AWS environment.
- Application Platform Support
- Support deployments and troubleshoot issues related to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
- Provide support for Internet Information Services (IIS) and .NET application deployments.
- Maintain the configuration and health of Apache Solr search platforms.
- Monitor application and system logs, and resolve infrastructure-related issues impacting application performance.
- Operational Excellence & Automation
- Proactively identify opportunities to automate repetitive and manual operational tasks.
- Enhance existing monitoring and alerting systems to improve system visibility and responsiveness.
- Support the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation and runbooks.
- Contribute to the development and execution of a long-term cloud optimization strategy.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a strong focus on EC2-centric environments.
- Proven experience supporting lift-and-shift cloud migration projects.
- Hands-on experience administering and managing Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid experience in Windows Server and/or Linux system administration.
- Demonstrated experience managing SSL certificates in enterprise-level environments.
- Experience with deploying and supporting applications on IIS, AEM, and .NET frameworks.
- Familiarity with basic infrastructure automation tools and concepts, such as Terraform or scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash), is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, capable of diagnosing issues across both infrastructure and application layers.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $55 – $75 per year (Estimated)
