Job Overview:
We have an urgent requirement for a Cobol Developer with extensive experience in the insurance domain. This role is based in Des Moines, IA, and offers both W2 and 1099 employment options. The ideal candidate will possess strong COBOL skills, along with knowledge of actuarial principles and general accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain COBOL programs and systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing COBOL applications.
- Work with databases and SQL for data retrieval and manipulation.
- Potentially gain exposure to LifePro systems and contribute to their development.
Required Skills:
- COBOL: Strong proficiency and extensive experience in COBOL programming.
- Insurance Domain: Proven experience and understanding of the insurance industry.
- Actuarial Knowledge: Familiarity with actuarial concepts and calculations.
- Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of general accounting principles.
- SQL: Experience with SQL for database interactions.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with LifePro systems is highly desired.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)
