Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Commvault Backup Systems and Windows Server Engineer to join our enterprise IT infrastructure team. This critical role is designed for a technical expert who can ensure the stability, security, and resilience of our large-scale, geographically distributed server and data protection environments. As a senior member of the infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of backup and recovery solutions, as well as the robust administration of Windows Server platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support complex Windows Server environments, both physical and virtual, ensuring high availability and performance across the enterprise.
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade backup and recovery strategies using Commvault data protection solutions.
- Manage CommCell administration, including media agents, storage libraries, and auxiliary copy architectures to meet RTO and RPO objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve intricate issues related to Windows OS, server hardware, and LAN/WAN networking fundamentals.
- Perform critical system upgrades, patches, and security fixes for both server operating systems and backup infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with cybersecurity teams to validate secure server configurations and maintain compliance with federal and enterprise security standards.
- Develop and manage comprehensive backup policies, schedules, and retention strategies aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
- Provide detailed analytics, usage metrics, and capacity planning reports within the Commvault management platform.
- Administer Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO) to manage permissions and security across the domain.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and lifecycle management for Dell server and storage systems.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive expertise in Commvault data protection solutions; Commvault certification is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server administration (2016, 2019, 2022) and VMware virtualization technologies.
- Solid understanding of enterprise storage technologies and networking protocols.
- Experience with Dell server hardware and enterprise storage arrays.
- Familiarity with endpoint protection, asset management, and automated deployment systems.
- Proven ability to document technical procedures, assessments, and auditing results for compliance support.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $165,000 per year (Estimated)
