Job Overview
Dia Software Solutions is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer for a direct client opportunity in Austin, TX. This role is critical for enhancing the security posture of a state government client, focusing on developing secure APIs, automation scripts, and microservices. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in security automation, platform integration, and a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices. Prior state government experience and local candidates are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop secure APIs, automation scripts, and microservices to enhance system security and efficiency.
- Build and maintain integrations between penetration testing tools and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms such as Splunk and Sentinel.
- Develop and manage security data ingestion pipelines to ensure comprehensive data collection for analysis.
- Maintain and manage Kali Linux-based penetration testing environments, ensuring they are up-to-date and functional.
- Support red team operations and application penetration testing activities to identify vulnerabilities.
- Automate workflows for alert enrichment, correlation, and reporting to improve incident response times.
- Implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for security tooling to streamline deployment and updates.
- Ensure compliance with NIST-based security frameworks and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Analyze security threats and vulnerabilities, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Document security procedures, configurations, and incident response plans.
Required Skills and Experience
- 15+ years of experience in Security Automation and Platform Integration.
- Hands-on experience with various Penetration Testing tools and Kali Linux.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Proficiency in developing and consuming REST APIs and extensive Linux Administration experience.
- Proven experience with SIEM integration, specifically Splunk and/or Microsoft Sentinel.
- Experience with Java and/or Python development is highly desirable.
- Understanding of access management principles and technologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working within a State Government environment.
- Local candidates to the Austin, TX area are strongly preferred.

Salary: $100,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
