Role Overview
Pyramid Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Cypress & TypeScript Engineer to join our client’s engineering team in Denver, CO. This is a critical role focused on enhancing the quality and reliability of complex software applications through advanced test automation. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in automation frameworks, specifically leveraging TypeScript and Cypress to drive efficiency in the software development life cycle (SDLC). As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end automation strategy, from initial analysis of manual test cases to the deployment of robust, scalable automated scripts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using TypeScript and JavaScript within the Cypress framework to support continuous integration and delivery.
- Perform comprehensive analysis of manual test cases and functional requirements to determine the optimal balance of test coverage for automation.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to gather requirements, design test architectures, and prepare detailed execution reports.
- Lead defect triage sessions and facilitate review meetings with stakeholders to ensure high-quality resolutions and diagnostic transparency.
- Identify and resolve ‘flaky’ test cases to maintain the integrity and reliability of the automation suite.
- Utilize tools like Splunk for in-depth log analysis to identify root causes of complex system failures.
- Manage test execution within management tools like Qmetry, ensuring all metrics such as defect counts and test status are accurately tracked.
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on best practices for front-end and back-end automation frameworks.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance and automation engineering.
- Extensive hands-on experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, and the Cypress automation framework.
- Proven expertise in building BDD (Behavior Driven Development) frameworks using Cucumber over Cypress.
- Strong understanding of database schemas and proficiency in using querying tools to validate data integrity.
- Deep knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with log analysis tools (e.g., Splunk) and test management software (e.g., Qmetry).
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
