Role Overview

The Data Analyst (DA) position is a critical remote role focused on bridging the gap between complex healthcare data and regulatory reporting requirements. As the healthcare industry continues to evolve under new federal and state mandates, the need for precise, validated, and timely data analysis has never been higher. This role requires a professional who can navigate the intricacies of healthcare datasets, including claims, provider information, and authorizations, while ensuring that all technical documentation aligns perfectly with business objectives. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical development teams, ensuring that every data point serves a regulatory or operational purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solicit and document comprehensive regulatory report requirements from various internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards and state-specific mandates.
  • Conduct deep-dive data analysis and validation to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement within the healthcare data ecosystem, ensuring high data quality for all reports.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including business leaders, compliance officers, and technical teams, to provide updates, insights, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Coordinate all activities related to the development of regulatory reports, ensuring that deadlines are met and data integrity is maintained throughout the entire reporting lifecycle.
  • Translate complex business requirements into detailed technical documentation that can be easily understood and implemented by engineering and database teams.
  • Perform data profiling and mapping to ensure that Snowflake and SQL environments are optimized for reporting needs and that data lineage is clearly defined.
  • Monitor data feeds and automated reporting processes to identify potential failures or discrepancies before they impact regulatory filings.

Technical Requirements

  • Intermediate proficiency in SQL is mandatory, with the ability to write complex queries, joins, and stored procedures for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Intermediate experience with Snowflake data warehousing, including a solid understanding of its architecture, data sharing capabilities, and performance tuning.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for presenting findings to non-technical audiences and documenting technical specifications for developers.
  • Proven experience in translating business needs into technical blueprints, ensuring that the final product meets the original intent of the stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high levels of productivity and collaboration through digital tools.

Domain Expertise and Environment

  • Extensive knowledge of the healthcare domain is a prerequisite, specifically regarding claims processing, member authorizations, and provider data management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks (such as CMS or state-level health department requirements) and the sensitivity of healthcare data (HIPAA compliance) is highly valued.
  • This is a remote position, requiring a self-motivated individual who can manage their time effectively and collaborate via digital platforms like Slack, Zoom, and Jira.

Impact and Career Growth

Joining this team as a Data Analyst offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of healthcare technology and data science. By ensuring the accuracy of regulatory reports, you play a vital role in the operational success of the organization and the quality of care provided to members. This role provides exposure to modern data stacks like Snowflake and offers a path toward senior data architecture, business intelligence leadership, or healthcare consultancy roles. We value continuous learning and provide an environment where technical skills are honed through real-world challenges and professional development opportunities.
