About the Role

As a Data and Cloud Solutions Architect, you will be the primary lead in designing, evolving, and optimizing our enterprise cloud-based data architecture. This role requires a sophisticated blend of data engineering mastery, hands-on cloud implementation, and a talent for communicating complex designs through professional architectural documentation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Architecture Design & Strategy: Design and implement secure, scalable cloud-based data pipelines, warehouses, and data lakes. Drive the selection of cloud data services to align with long-term business goals.
  • Advanced Diagramming: Produce high-fidelity visual diagrams (Data Flow, ERDs, System Architecture) using Visio or Lucidchart to guide engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Hands-on Implementation: Actively contribute to the coding and deployment of cloud data solutions, ensuring best practices in distributed computing.
  • Optimization & Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data pipelines and cloud systems to ensure high data quality and accessibility.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years in Data Architecture and Data Structures.
  • Education: Bachelor’s of Engineering in Computer Science is mandatory.
  • Data Engineering: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience using distributed computing frameworks such as Spark, MapReduce, or Databricks.
  • Cloud Expertise: A proven track record of designing and implementing cloud-based data solutions specifically within the Azure ecosystem.
  • Data Modeling: Deep expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling for both relational and non-relational database systems.
  • Visualization Tools: Exceptional skills in Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools to create comprehensive architectural visuals.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of cloud-specific data services (e.g., DataBricks, Azure Data Lake).
  • Expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Strong understanding of data security and governance principles.
  • Experience in scripting languages (Python, SQL).

Compensation & Location

Salary: $120 – $160 per year (Estimated)
