Position Overview: Senior Data Architect (Finance Domain)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to join our dynamic team in Dallas, Texas. This hybrid role is pivotal in shaping the data landscape for our financial services division, specifically focusing on regulatory reporting and General Ledger (GL) systems. As we move into 2026, the complexity of financial data continues to grow, and we require an architect who can bridge the gap between complex business requirements and robust technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and the specific nuances of financial data structures.

Key Responsibilities and Strategic Impact

  • Design and implement strategic data solutions using current and emerging technologies, partnering closely with the Enterprise Architect to ensure alignment with the broader organizational goals.
  • Lead the definition, design, and deployment planning of data management strategies, ensuring that our data infrastructure is scalable, secure, and efficient.
  • Develop and implement data frameworks, reference models, and data modeling for both operational and analytical environments.
  • Take ownership of the Information Architecture and data strategy implementation, ensuring that all data assets are properly governed and utilized.
  • Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) for new technologies, staying ahead of industry trends to maintain a competitive edge in the financial sector.
  • Collaborate with business users to gather, document, and seek approval for business requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Mentor senior and junior architects, serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in both business processes and technical architecture.
  • Define, test, and optimize the data architecture framework to ensure high performance and reliability across all data platforms.
  • Seek design approval from the data architecture team and the architecture review board for all major infrastructure changes.

Technical Requirements and Must-Haves

  • Extensive experience in Data Modeling using tools like Erwin. You must be proficient in creating logical and physical data models for complex systems.
  • Deep knowledge of the Finance Domain, specifically regulatory reporting and General Ledger (GL) functions. Experience supporting data modeling within financial teams handling AR/GL is essential.
  • Strong Data Warehousing (DW) skills, with a proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-level DW solutions.
  • Expertise in implementing information security and data access controls across various data stores, including RDBMS, unstructured data, and file stores.
  • Advanced understanding of underlying hardware architecture (processing and storage) used by both RDBMS and non-RDBMS data stores.
  • Proficiency in designing and developing complex Stored Procedures and a working knowledge of Control-M Plus for job scheduling.
  • Understand business systems analysis and data artifacts within an enterprise architecture framework.

Preferred Qualifications and Plusses

  • Experience in a consulting environment, providing high-level strategic advice to clients.
  • Knowledge of Data Center operations and infrastructure management.
  • Hands-on experience with the Snowflake Data Platform, particularly in a cloud-native environment.
  • Familiarity with modern data concepts such as Data Mesh or Data Fabric.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the data strategy of a major financial institution. The ideal candidate will be a local resident of the Dallas area, as the role follows a hybrid work model. We are currently considering candidates with USC, GC, or H4 EAD status. The position requires a blend of technical mastery and business acumen to navigate the evolving regulatory landscape of 2026.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $160,000 – $210,000 per year

Location: Dallas, TX
