Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer based in the Seattle, WA area to join our team for a high-priority, long-term project. This role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines within the AWS ecosystem. As a local expert, you will play a critical role in managing our data architecture and ensuring seamless integration between diverse data sources and our cloud-based warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Development: Design and implement robust ETL/ELT processes using AWS Glue and Python to automate data movement and transformation.
- Data Warehousing: Optimize and manage large-scale data sets within Amazon Redshift to ensure high-performance querying and reporting.
- Storage & Management: Orchestrate data lakes using AWS S3 and leverage Amazon Athena for ad-hoc analysis and schema discovery.
- Optimization: Fine-tune SQL queries and data models to reduce latency and infrastructure costs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Core AWS Ecosystem: Deep proficiency in AWS Glue, Redshift, S3, and Athena is mandatory.
- Programming: Expert-level Python skills for data manipulation and automation.
- SQL Mastery: Advanced ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
- Data Architecture: Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and data lake management.
Critical Candidate Requirements
- Local Residency: Candidates must currently reside in the Seattle, WA metropolitan area.
- Drivers License: A valid Drivers License (DL) is required for this position.
- Professional Readiness: Ability to commit to an initial 6-12 month contract with potential for long-term extension based on performance and project needs.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $50 – $70 per year (Estimated)
