Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience to join our dynamic team in Malvern, PA. This is a long-term contract position (1+ year with high extension probability) requiring an immediate onsite presence from day one. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in AWS cloud data architecture, specifically focusing on large-scale ETL processes and data pipeline optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines using AWS Glue, PySpark, and advanced SQL.
  • Architect scalable data solutions leveraging the full AWS ecosystem, including S3, Lambda, Redshift, and Step Functions.
  • Implement and manage IAM policies, CloudWatch monitoring, and automated alerting systems to ensure high availability.
  • Drive CI/CD best practices using GitHub and automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality and deployment reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into technical data models and architectural designs.
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to improve performance and reduce operational costs.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and mentor junior engineers on cloud-native data engineering principles.

Technical Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Development with a focus on data-intensive applications.
  • Expert-level proficiency in PySpark and SQL for complex data transformations.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Glue for serverless ETL and AWS Redshift for data warehousing.
  • Strong understanding of serverless computing using AWS Lambda and orchestration via Step Functions.
  • Proven track record of implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and cloud security best practices.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Malvern, PA
