Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer / BI Developer to support the State Health Analytics Reporting Platform (SHARP). This role involves creating data pipelines, dashboards, and reports using Informatica IICS, Tableau, or PowerBI, translating business requirements into actionable data solutions, and ensuring they meet customer needs. The position requires participation in testing and collaboration with team members for report publication and promotion. Experience with Informatica ETL tools is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, and perform cost/benefit analysis.
- Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or improve existing computer systems.
- Confer with organizational units to analyze current operational procedures and identify problems.
- Learn specific input and output requirements, including data input forms, summarization methods, and report formats.
- Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps for program development or modification.
- Review computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine feasibility of requested programs or changes.
- Support the SHARP platform by creating data pipelines, dashboards, and reports using Informatica IICS, Tableau, or PowerBI.
- Translate business requirements into data pipelines and Tableau/PowerBI reports.
- Work with program staff to ensure data solutions meet customer needs.
- Participate in testing of pipelines, reports, and dashboards to ensure proper function.
- Collaborate with coworkers to publish and promote reports as needed.
- Experience with Informatica ETL tools is strongly preferred.
- Contractor will be required to be on site 3 days per week (Tues, Wed & Fri), but this is subject to change.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Minimum Requirements:
- 8 years of experience creating dashboards or reports using Tableau / PowerBI or similar tools.
- 8 years of Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) and data management experience using Informatica.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience working with very large scale data sets in Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or similar. Snowflake experience strongly preferred.
- 4 years of experience with data analysis.
- 2 years of experience working with Informatica ETL tools (strongly preferred).
- 2 years of experience working with Tableau creating dashboards and reports.
- 2 years of experience working with PowerBI creating dashboards and reports.
Special Requirements
Interview Mode: In person. Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – 2 days remote with 3 days (Tues, Wed & Fri) required to be onsite). Duration: 7+ Months (with high possibility of extension in FY).
Compensation & Location
Salary: $60 – $80 per year (Estimated)
