Job Description: Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a strong background in P&C Insurance Domain Experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing and organizing raw data, building robust data systems and pipelines, and evaluating business needs and objectives to drive data-informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and organize raw data from various sources.
  • Build and maintain scalable data systems and pipelines.
  • Evaluate business needs and objectives to align data strategies.
  • Interpret trends and patterns within complex datasets.
  • Conduct complex data analysis and report on findings.
  • Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
  • Develop and implement algorithms and prototypes.
  • Combine information from different sources to create a unified view.
  • Identify opportunities for data acquisition and integration.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools and programs.
  • Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability.

Technical Skills:

  • Previous experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL database design and management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a similar field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Data engineering certification (e.g., IBM Certified Data Engineer) is a plus.

Behavioral Skills:

  • Ability to resolve technical issues and explore alternate designs.
  • Participate effectively as a team member and foster teamwork through inter-group coordination.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Train and coach project team members to ensure effective knowledge management.

Domain Experience:

  • P&C Insurance Domain Experience is required.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year (Estimated)
