Role Summary

We are seeking handson Data Engineers to support a largescale Salesforce implementation involving complex legacy data migration. The role focuses on extracting, transforming, validating, and loading data into Salesforce platforms while ensuring data quality, reconciliation, and adherence to program standards. The Data Engineer will work closely with business analysts, Salesforce teams, and crossfunctional workstreams to deliver reliable, productionready data assets.

Key Responsibilities: Data Engineering & Migration

  • Extract legacy data from relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) using Azurebased services such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse
  • Design and implement sourcetotarget mappings aligned to Salesforce data models
  • Build and optimize data transformation pipelines using Databricks
  • Load, validate, and reconcile data across Salesforce platforms including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC)

Data Quality & Testing

  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and defect analysis
  • Conduct unit testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Identify data gaps and work with stakeholders to resolve inconsistencies

Delivery & Collaboration

  • Manage work items, defects, and priorities using Jira
  • Collaborate with business analysts, Salesforce developers, and program teams across multiple workstreams
  • Contribute to reusable migration frameworks, standards, and playbooks
  • Ensure timely delivery aligned to program milestones and governance processes

Skills & Experience: Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in data engineering and ETL/ELT development
  • Handson experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Databricks
  • Experience loading data into Salesforce platforms
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce data models
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets
  • Prior experience in Salesforce data migration projects
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work across multiple workstreams and collaborate with distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in enterprisescale CRM or Salesforce transformation programs
  • Familiarity with data quality, reconciliation, and migration best practices
  • Experience working in Agile delivery models

Compensation & Location

Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Chicago, IL
