Position Summary: Senior Data Engineer
Qualis 1 Inc is looking for a seasoned Data Engineer to join our client’s team in San Jose, CA, with remote flexibility. This 12+ month contract role requires a technical leader with over a decade of experience in data architecture and engineering. The focus of this position is the development and maintenance of high-performance data pipelines on the Databricks Lakehouse platform, specifically supporting Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience (CX) analytics initiatives.
Key Technical Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, PySpark, and Delta Live Tables.
- Design and implement curated datasets for critical business domains, including accounts, contacts, marketing campaigns, and paid media.
- Utilize Unity Catalog for data governance and fine-grained access control across the Lakehouse environment.
- Enable advanced analytics by building Power BI semantic models and optimizing DAX queries for performance.
- Configure Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) data views, including complex identity stitching and cross-channel data resolution.
Data Quality and Integration
- Implement comprehensive data quality, validation, and observability frameworks to ensure the integrity of ‘golden’ datasets.
- Integrate diverse data sources via REST APIs, OAuth-secured connectors, and webhook-based ingestion methods.
- Automate deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines and job orchestration tools to maintain high availability.
- Perform anomaly detection and data reconciliation to support reliable business intelligence reporting.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to standardize KPIs and ensure data models align with strategic business goals.
Required Skills and Domain Knowledge
- 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering with a heavy focus on Databricks and Spark ecosystems.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for complex data transformations and analysis.
- Deep understanding of CRM data structures (Salesforce/Leads) and web analytics.
- Experience with identity resolution and marketing engagement tracking.
- Strong background in cloud-native data modeling and schema design.
Special Requirements
US Citizens and Green Cards Only. Domain expertise in Marketing, Sales, and CX Analytics required.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
