Role Overview
We are seeking a highly seasoned Data Governance Architect with over 18 years of professional experience to lead our enterprise-wide data strategy and governance initiatives. This is a remote-first position designed for a visionary leader who can bridge the gap between technical data management and business-aligned data stewardship. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and implementing robust data governance frameworks in complex, large-scale environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Data Governance roadmap that aligns with corporate strategic goals.
- Establish and chair Data Governance Councils and working groups to drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Define and enforce data standards, policies, and procedures for data quality, metadata management, and data privacy.
- Architect and deploy enterprise metadata repositories and data lineage solutions to ensure transparency and traceability.
- Collaborate with IT and Business units to identify data owners, stewards, and custodians across the organization.
- Lead the selection and implementation of Data Governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica) to automate governance workflows.
- Monitor data quality metrics and lead remediation efforts to improve the reliability of enterprise data assets.
- Ensure compliance with global data regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and industry-specific mandates.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data architects and analysts on governance best practices.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of experience in Data Management, Data Architecture, or Data Governance.
- Expert knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK frameworks and industry best practices.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade data governance and cataloging tools.
- Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL, and cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data Management (RDM) strategies.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools and techniques (ER/Studio, Erwin).

Salary: $165,000 – $225,000 per year
