Position Summary
We are looking for a seasoned Data Governance Lead to spearhead our data compliance and risk management initiatives in Phoenix, AZ. This hybrid role requires a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between business processes and technical data controls. You will be responsible for ensuring that our enterprise data assets are managed according to strict policies, with a primary focus on Record Retention and Deletion, Data Quality, and Data Protection.
Core Responsibilities
- Identify data-related risks and implement associated controls for key business processes across the organization.
- Manage risks related to Record Retention, Data Quality, Data Movement, Data Stewardship, and Data Sharing.
- Develop comprehensive training materials and lead educational sessions to inform the organization on Record Retention and Deletion procedures.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for enterprise data policies, providing guidance to business units on policy implications.
- Partner with Product Managers to ensure new use cases and product features comply with established data governance policies.
- Drive strategic improvements to data assessment processes and analytical tools to enhance governance efficiency.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements by collaborating with upstream data providers and downstream business partners.
- Collaborate with the Data Steward Manager to develop and execute the long-term data compliance roadmap.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience in Data Management or related fields.
- 3-5 years of specific experience in compliance roles involving Record Retention and Deletion policies.
- 2-5 years of dedicated Data Quality Management experience.
- Strong understanding of Data Governance concepts, including metadata management, data lineage, and data architecture.
- Proven experience working within Agile or SAFe project methodologies.
- Exceptional communication and influence skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
Preferred Skills & Leadership
- Experience within the Travel Industry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of RCSA (Risk Control Self-Assessment) methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to make quick, effective decisions and exercise sound judgment regarding policy compliance.
- A track record of driving innovation and challenging the status quo to improve data processes.
- Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to coordinate efforts across multiple cross-functional teams.
This is a contract (C2C) position requiring a high level of expertise and leadership. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and compliance of our data ecosystem.
Special Requirements
Hybrid Phoenix AZ, Contract C2C, NO CPT, 10+ years experience, Travel Industry experience preferred, RCSA knowledge preferred.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $205,000 per year (Estimated)
