Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Migration Specialist and Veeva Solution Architect to lead complex data transition initiatives within the Life Sciences and CPG sectors. This role is critical for ensuring the integrity and continuity of data as it moves from legacy systems into the Veeva Vault platform. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Veeva Vault architecture and a proven track record of managing large-scale data migration backlogs, including features, tasks, and user stories.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the comprehensive data migration product backlog, ensuring all tasks, features, and user stories are prioritized and aligned with project goals.
- Collaborate closely with the customer Data Lead to define and create detailed user stories for data migration, including the establishment of clear Acceptance Criteria within JIRA.
- Facilitate the review and approval process for user stories, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned before development begins.
- Finalize source-to-target mapping (STTM) documents, ensuring precise data translation and transformation logic.
- Lead code development and scripting efforts using Java or Python to automate and facilitate efficient data migration processes.
- Develop and maintain a Progress Tracker to monitor all data migration activities across various stages of the project lifecycle.
- Establish a standardized data migration approach in coordination with the architecture and project management teams.
- Coordinate development and validation efforts for data transformation and loading, ensuring successful migration into the target environment.
- Create and manage documentation in strict accordance with the customer’s SDLC process, following up on all necessary reviews and approvals.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on data migration and architecture.
- Deep expertise in Veeva Vault configuration, implementation, and data models (documents, records, and metadata).
- Proficiency in Java or Python for scripting and automation of data tasks.
- Advanced knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
- Hands-on experience with Vault Loader and related Veeva APIs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving complex data discrepancies and migration issues.
- Familiarity with data quality assessment and cleansing methodologies.
Domain and Soft Skills
- Extensive experience in the Life Sciences or CPG industry, particularly with GxP projects and regulatory compliance standards.
- Proven ability to work within Agile methodologies and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Special Requirements
Domain: Life Sciences CPG, GxP projects. Requires deep Veeva Vault configuration experience.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $175,000 – $225,000 per year (Estimated)
Location: Summit, NJ
