Position Summary: Data Modeler II (Supply Chain Innovation)
Resource Consulting Services Inc. is proud to partner with a leading player in the Oil & Gas sector to find a talented Data Modeler II for their SCM Enable & Innovate team. This is a high-impact, 12-month contract role based in Houston, Texas, operating under a hybrid work model. We are looking for a professional with a product-driven, start-up mindset who can manage the end-to-end development of innovative data solutions. Your work will directly contribute to measurable business value within the Supply Chain domain, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to solve complex industrial challenges and drive efficiency across the organization.
Core Responsibilities: Product Development and Data Science
- Advanced Data Modeling: You will design and optimize complex data models that support procurement, spend analysis, and market intelligence. This involves working with both structured and unstructured data, such as purchase order line descriptions and customer feedback, to extract actionable insights.
- ETL Pipeline Engineering: A core part of your role will be designing and optimizing high-performance ETL pipelines. You will utilize Azure Databricks, Microsoft Dataflow, and Dataverse, as well as Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW), to ensure scalable and efficient data processing.
- ERP Integration: You will leverage your deep knowledge of SAP and Oracle Cloud (SCM, A/P, Projects, Finance) to integrate data solutions with enterprise platforms. This includes utilizing analytics tools within these ERP systems to support data-driven decision-making.
- Innovation and AI: We are looking for someone who can push the boundaries of traditional data modeling. You will utilize Python and PySpark for large-scale processing and apply advanced data science techniques, including predictive analysis, sentiment analysis, and machine learning. Experience with prompt engineering and the Microsoft Power Platform (Copilot Studio) is highly desired.
Program Management and Stakeholder Engagement
Beyond technical execution, you will play a vital role in program management. You will define and document project objectives, problem statements, and business value propositions. You will be responsible for overseeing project timelines and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overarching goals. A key part of this role is the ability to articulate technical requirements and product details to internal business stakeholders in clear, plain language. You will facilitate project meetings, share progress updates, and maintain rigorous documentation, including idea assessments and weekly status reports, using tools like PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio. Your ability to bridge the gap between technical complexity and business needs is essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Candidates should have 5-7+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management (SCM) or product development. A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (SCM), Data Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark is essential. You should have hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools like Dataflow, Dataverse, and Power Automate. Familiarity with Alteryx for data preparation and experience in the Oil & Gas industry, specifically with Procure-to-Pay and Source-to-Pay processes, will set you apart. This role is open to US Citizens and Green Card holders only, as it is a W2-only position without benefits. Compensation & Location
Salary: $35 – $35 per year
