Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Modeler Lead for a contract position onsite in Plano, Texas. This role is pivotal in shaping our data architecture and ensuring that our database structures are optimized for performance, scalability, and business intelligence. The successful candidate will lead the data modeling efforts, working closely with stakeholders to design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support our enterprise data strategy. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive database structures that meet evolving business requirements.
  • Create and maintain detailed conceptual, logical, and physical data models using industry-standard tools.
  • Utilize Erwin or PowerDesigner to document and manage the data architecture.
  • Optimize complex SQL queries to ensure maximum database performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with ETL developers and data engineers to ensure seamless data integration and warehousing processes.
  • Establish and enforce industry best practices for data modeling and database design across the organization.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that inform architectural decisions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data modelers and analysts.
  • Work closely with business units to understand data needs and translate them into technical specifications.

Technical Requirements

  • Extensive experience in data modeling and database design within a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and a deep understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS).
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin or PowerDesigner.
  • Strong familiarity with data warehousing concepts, including star and snowflake schemas.
  • Proven experience with ETL processes and tools.
  • Ability to optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases and big data technologies is a plus.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $140,000 – $180,000 per year (Estimated)
