Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist with over 10 years of professional experience to join a critical 6-month project in Pleasanton, CA. This onsite role requires a deep understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and large-scale data engineering. You will be responsible for building, evaluating, and deploying sophisticated models that drive significant business value and operational efficiency for our client. This is a high-impact role requiring both technical depth and strategic thinking.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced machine learning models using Python and SQL to solve complex business challenges.
  • Perform comprehensive data wrangling, cleaning, and feature engineering to prepare datasets for modeling.
  • Build and optimize deep learning architectures using frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
  • Apply NLP, computer vision, and time-series forecasting techniques to diverse use cases.
  • Design and optimize complex SQL queries involving window functions, CTEs, and advanced joins.
  • Create insightful data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib to tell stories with data.
  • Deploy models into production-scale environments using Flask, FastAPI, and containerization tools like Docker.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to build and maintain robust data pipelines using Spark, Hadoop, and Airflow.
  • Conduct model evaluation using metrics like Precision/Recall, ROC-AUC, MSE, and RMSE, followed by rigorous model tuning.

Technical Expertise

  • 10+ years of professional experience in Data Science, Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Expertise in classical Machine Learning algorithms including Linear/Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forest, XGBoost, and LightGBM.
  • Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn, Seaborn, Plotly) for data prep and modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud platforms, specifically AWS (S3, EC2, SageMaker), Azure (Databricks), or GCP (BigQuery).
  • Familiarity with Big Data frameworks like Spark and Hadoop for processing large-scale datasets.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD basics and deployment workflows in a production environment.

Compliance and Requirements

This is a strictly onsite position located in Pleasanton, CA. Candidates must be currently on an H1B visa and must be prepared to provide a passport number, Driver’s License copy, and Visa copy for mandatory screening purposes. The project duration is initially 6 months with a high possibility of extension based on performance and project roadmap requirements. Only candidates with 10+ years of experience will be considered for this senior-level engagement.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $160,000 – $215,000 per year

Location: Pleasanton, CA
