Role Overview: Data Steward (Banking Domain)
Teamware Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Data Steward to join a fast-paced, dynamic Data Governance team for a major banking client in Dallas, TX. This role is critical for ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of enterprise data assets. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of banking business processes and data governance disciplines to embed best-in-class practices across the organization. As an Associate Data Steward, you will be at the forefront of managing data as a strategic asset, ensuring that data definitions are standardized and quality is maintained at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and curate the Business Glossary of data asset definitions to ensure consistency across the enterprise.
- Identify, track, and document Data Lineage for critical data assets, ensuring transparency from source to consumption.
- Profile data assets and collaborate with business stakeholders to build fit-for-purpose Data Quality rules.
- Implement and manage data quality rules within the Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) toolset.
- Perform root cause analysis on data issues and work with technology partners to resolve underlying problems.
- Partner with technology teams to ensure governed data assets are accessible in centralized company data repositories.
- Create and maintain detailed business process flows and data mappings.
- Prepare for and participate in periodic data owner forums to discuss prioritization and initiative status.
- Mentor and educate data users to foster a data-driven culture within the bank.
- Ensure compliance with internal data policies and external regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Data Stewardship or Data Governance.
- Strong background in the Banking or Financial Services industry, specifically dealing with client data.
- Expertise in developing business process flows, data standards, and definitions.
- Demonstrated ability to build Business Glossaries and track complex Data Lineage.
- Advanced SQL skills for data profiling and ongoing analysis.
- Hands-on experience with the Informatica suite of Data Governance tools (IDQ, EDC, Axon) is strongly preferred.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple project streams.
- Project management experience delivering results across cross-functional teams.
Project Environment
This position operates within a high-stakes banking environment where data accuracy is paramount for regulatory compliance and strategic decision-making. You will be working with cross-functional teams including Data Owners, Technology Partners, and Business Analysts to ensure that data is treated as a strategic asset. The role requires a proactive individual who can navigate complex organizational structures and drive data governance initiatives to completion. The successful candidate will be expected to help embed a data-driven mindset across the organization, acting as a subject matter expert for data governance disciplines.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $100,000 – $114,400 per year
