Position Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Data Warehouse Developer to join our Data Management Program in Madison, WI. This is a remote opportunity for a professional who is passionate about data literacy and helping organizations become more data-driven. You will work within a small, agile, and highly collaborative team to deliver significant value to our business partners through robust data solutions. Data is one of our most valuable assets, and this role is critical in ensuring its accessibility, quality, and reliability for decision-making processes across the organization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Gathering complex business requirements and translating them into detailed technical specifications for ETL processes.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing ETL jobs using industry-standard tools, with a specific focus on Alteryx and SSIS.
  • Developing various types of data loads, including incremental, full history, and full loads, while applying survivorship rules to ensure data integrity.
  • Implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) mechanisms to track and manage data changes efficiently over time.
  • Performing rigorous testing and debugging of ETL workflows to ensure high performance and accuracy in production environments.
  • Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Managing ETL job scheduling to ensure timely data availability for business intelligence and reporting.

Technical Requirements and Tools

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in ETL development and requirement gathering.
  • At least 2 years of specialized experience using Alteryx for complex data workflows.
  • 4+ years of experience implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) strategies.
  • 6+ years of experience with SQL Server and writing complex, high-performance SQL scripts.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and master data management tools like Semarchy.
  • Proficiency with version control systems, specifically Git and GitHub, to manage source code and collaborate with other developers.

Preferred Qualifications and Soft Skills

  • Experience managing multiple ETL tools simultaneously within a diverse and evolving tech stack.
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks and tools to ensure the highest standards of data governance and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to mentor junior developers and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects and tasks in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical business stakeholders.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $60 – $60 per year
