Job Description: Databricks Platform Administration

We are seeking an experienced Databricks Platform Administrator to manage and maintain our Databricks environments. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Databricks administration, including workspaces, clusters, jobs, libraries, and secrets. You will be responsible for provisioning, configuring, and maintaining Databricks workspaces across development, testing, and production environments. A solid understanding of Lakehouse architecture and data platform operations is essential.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience as a Databricks Administrator.
  • Experience administering Databricks across multiple environments (Dev, Test, Prod).
  • Knowledge of Databricks workspaces, clusters, jobs, libraries, and secrets.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts for data platforms.
  • Understanding of Lakehouse architecture and data platform operations.

Professional Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in onsite-offshore delivery models.
  • Process-oriented mindset with strong documentation discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision, configure, and maintain Databricks workspaces across Dev, Test, and Prod environments.
  • Manage workspace settings, libraries, secrets, and integrations with enterprise systems.
  • Configure and manage Lakehouse SQL Warehouses, ensuring reliable connectivity (JDBC/ODBC).
  • Implement and manage user access controls, roles, and permissions in Databricks.
  • Support governance standards, including object ownership, naming conventions, and audit readiness.
  • Manage secrets and credentials securely, supporting compliance with customer security policies.
  • Configure and support CI/CD pipelines for Databricks deployments across environments.
  • Enable consistent deployment frameworks between Non-Prod and Production.
  • Coordinate with DevOps teams to support automated release and rollback mechanisms.
  • Monitor workspace health, cluster usage, and job execution to ensure platform stability.
  • Troubleshoot platform-level issues related to performance, configuration, and access.
  • Support SIT/UAT/Production operations in collaboration with customer and offshore teams.
  • Act as the primary Databricks platform SPOC at the customer location.
  • Work closely with data engineers, testers, and architects to support Bronze/Silver/Gold pipelines.
  • Provide operational guidance and best practice recommendations to the customer team.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $70 – $90 per year (Estimated)
