Job Description:

We have an open opportunity for a DevOps Engineer. The role involves designing and building DevOps processes and procedures around large-scale applications, including on-premise and cloud components. The engineer will assist developers with failures, manage software configurations, and ensure end-to-end automated testing and continuous deployments succeed. Responsibilities include debugging production outages, taking actions resulting from root-cause analysis, monitoring the production environment to keep systems stable and running, and providing off-hour support when needed. The role requires adherence to established processes, governance, and best practices to optimize resource utilization and to address technical incidents and problems in a timely manner, adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support principles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and build DevOps processes and procedures around large-scale applications, inclusive of on-premise and cloud components.
  • Design build-plans, assist developers with failures, and manage software configurations.
  • Ensure end-to-end automated testing and continuous deployments succeed.
  • Debug production outages and take actions resulting from root-cause analysis.
  • Monitor production environment and act to keep systems stable and running.
  • Provide off-hour support when needed to troubleshoot problems with mission-critical applications.
  • Follow and maintain the standards set by the enterprise’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), along with compliance methodologies.
  • Adhere to established processes, governance, and best practices to optimize the use of hardware, software, and personnel resources within the organization.
  • Address technical incidents and problems in a timely manner, adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support principles.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Software engineering, microservices applications, message queues/busses and related technologies.
  • Minimum of 2 years of DevOps experience.
  • Experience with Linux administration, Windows administration, and IIS management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure and/or on-premise server infrastructure, Azure preferred.
  • Possess hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery technology.
  • Candidate has a working knowledge of Containers (Docker) and Kubernetes.
  • Candidate has experience working with automation tools.
  • Possess knowledge of Ansible, Nginx, and Web concepts such as REST APIs, SPAs, and gRPC.
  • Candidate has proven experience with SQL and Database Administration (SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience in application development tools (e.g., GIT, Visual Studio/Azure DevOps and source control), testing, and process and configuration management.
  • Demonstrated fundamental understanding of modern platform technologies and industry standard methodologies.
  • Experience with SDLC principles and implementation of web-based or back-end applications.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and how to mine them for operational reporting.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate has knowledge and experience with design and implementation of security standards and patterns.
  • Must be a team player with solid communication skills, excellent at problem solving / troubleshooting, and can embrace new challenges.
  • Able to keep a positive attitude and can remain flexible in a dynamic environment.

Special Requirements

Locations: Lenexa, KS; Lubbock, TX; Colorado Springs, CO; Purchase, NY (Hybrid work). Need Locals. Visa: USC/GC. Compensation & Location

Salary: $70 – $90 per year (Estimated)

Location: Lenexa, KS
