Job Overview:

We have an urgent requirement with one of our clients for a DevOps Engineer. This role is based in Maryland and requires an in-person interview. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering, systems administration, or DevOps, with a proven track record of supporting high-traffic enterprise platforms.

General Experience:

  • The candidate must have at least eight (8) years of progressive experience in software engineering, systems administration, or DevOps, with a demonstrated track record of supporting high-traffic enterprise platforms.

Specialized Experience:

  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a technical lead or senior DevOps role focusing on AWS cloud infrastructure and containerization.
  • Proven experience architecting and managing production Kubernetes clusters using Amazon EKS, including upgrades, node group management, and security hardening.
  • Deep expertise in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a strong portfolio of writing custom modules and managing remote state.
  • Hands-on experience implementing Service Mesh architectures (specifically AWS App Mesh) and Service Discovery tools (Consul) in a complex microservices environment.
  • Demonstrable experience building and maintaining complex Jenkins pipelines (Groovy scripting) for automated CI/CD.
  • Expertise in AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway) and security (Security Groups, NACLs, IAM).
  • Experience with Helm charts for package management and deployment on Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and implement self-healing infrastructure strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

In-person Interview required. Local to DMV area.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
