About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The primary focus of this role is to build and maintain scalable, robust, and efficient infrastructure solutions. This is not a standard Linux System Administrator position; we require an individual with deep engineering expertise capable of designing, deploying, and maintaining sophisticated automation workflows across both cloud and on-premises environments. Your contributions will be crucial in enhancing our infrastructure’s reliability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive Terraform modules to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Develop advanced Ansible playbooks and roles, ensuring efficient deployment and maintenance of automation across production and non-production environments.
- Manage, troubleshoot, and provide support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems. Experience with SUSE or AIX environments is considered a valuable asset.
- Integrate various infrastructure components using Python scripting to enhance automation capabilities and improve process efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the development team to facilitate the deployment and management of applications within OpenShift or other virtualized environments.
- Actively participate in configuration management initiatives, driving infrastructure standardization and implementing operational improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, providing support for system maintenance and minor OS-level tasks as needed.
- Ensure the seamless integration of infrastructure components, including Terraform, Ansible, and OpenShift/VM, to create a fully functional end-to-end system.
Must-Have Skills
- Terraform: Extensive hands-on experience in developing and deploying infrastructure using Terraform.
- Ansible: Deep expertise in building Ansible roles and automation playbooks for complex configurations and deployments.
- RHEL Linux: Proven experience in supporting and troubleshooting production RHEL Linux environments.
- Python: Proficiency in basic to moderate Python scripting for automation tasks and integration.
- DevOps Environment: Demonstrated ability to thrive in an engineering-focused, DevOps-oriented work setting.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a proactive and growth-oriented mindset.
- Basic UNIX Skills: Competency in navigating and performing support/maintenance tasks within the UNIX operating system.
- Infrastructure Integration: Solid experience with Terraform and Ansible, combined with knowledge of OpenShift or virtual machine environments, and the ability to integrate these components effectively.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience working with hybrid cloud or virtualised infrastructure setups.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and various infrastructure integration tools.
- Exposure to SUSE or AIX operating systems.
