Job Title: DevOps Engineer
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. This role requires a candidate who is local to the Austin area or nearby, with a hybrid work model involving 3 days remote and 2 days onsite (Mondays and Thursdays) at the specified location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability, and implement solutions to optimize them.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve system stability and performance.
- Implement and maintain security best practices across the infrastructure.
- Manage and optimize cloud resources on AWS or GCP.
- Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes.
- Develop and maintain scripting for automation and operational tasks.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support 24×7 production environments.
- Document operational procedures, runbooks, and system architecture.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering roles.
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix systems and system internals.
- Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Bash.
- Experience designing and operating highly available, distributed systems.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or GCP and their associated cloud-native services.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of monitoring, alerting, and logging concepts.
- Experience defining and managing Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and error budgets.
- Familiarity with incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and postmortems.
- Experience integrating security and compliance into operational workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Application Insights, Datadog, or Splunk.
- Experience operating 24×7 production environments with on-call rotations.
- Experience with chaos engineering and resiliency testing.
- Experience with feature flags, canary deployments, and progressive delivery strategies.
- Strong documentation skills for creating runbooks, dashboards, and operational standards.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid work model: 3 days remote, 2 days onsite (Mondays and Thursdays).
- Must be local to the Austin, TX area or nearby.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
