Technical Requirements
- Terraform Expertise: Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience specifically using TypeScript for infrastructure as code.
- Amazon EKS: 8+ years of experience in developing and managing AWS services with a specialized focus on Kubernetes orchestration via EKS.
- Service Mesh: 4+ years designing and maintaining Istio within EKS environments to ensure secure and observable microservices communication.
- AWS Ecosystem: Extensive 8-year track record with EC2, ECR, S3, Cognito, and NLB.
- Containerization: 6+ years working with Docker and microservices frameworks.
- CI/CD Mastery: 8+ years building complex pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and related tools.
- Networking & Security: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, and AWS Well-Architected Frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of cloud environments. This includes the initial design using Terraform, the deployment of containerized applications on EKS, and the ongoing optimization of the service mesh. You will work closely with Agile teams to ensure that security best practices are baked into the CI/CD pipelines. Given the public sector nature of the work, adherence to strict compliance and operational standards is paramount. You will also be expected to mentor junior engineers and contribute to the architectural roadmap of the organization. Furthermore, the candidate should be familiar with AWS CloudWatch for monitoring and logging, ensuring that all microservices are performing as expected. The ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems is a key requirement. Experience with Agile tools like Jira or Confluence for project tracking and documentation is also expected. The successful candidate will have 8 years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
