Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our Infrastructure Platform Administration team in Plano, Texas. This is a critical role designed for a professional who thrives in a hybrid cloud environment and is passionate about scaling services through automation and strategic infrastructure management. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be at the forefront of defining our infrastructure roadmap, ensuring that our systems are not only robust and secure but also capable of supporting the long-term growth of our enterprise applications. This position requires a blend of deep technical expertise in cloud technologies and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced, 24×7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define the infrastructure system roadmap and develop long-term strategies for scaling platform services.
- Design, implement, and maintain complex infrastructure configurations using industry-standard procedures and automated training plans.
- Oversee the end-to-end build and deployment processes for applications across a diverse enterprise hybrid cloud landscape.
- Provide 24×7 on-call technical support for infrastructure-related emergencies, ensuring a response time of no more than four hours.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, and detailed scope of work reports for major infrastructure projects.
- Partner with Software Architects and Application Teams to optimize software delivery pipelines, enhance application performance, and build highly resilient systems.
- Proactively monitor system health and intervene to correct performance bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities before they impact the business.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is strongly preferred; equivalent technical certifications and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience spanning Development and DevOps, with a focus on Cloud Service Providers (Azure preferred).
- Expertise in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies and tools.
- Advanced proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform, and automation frameworks like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Saltstack.
- Extensive experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes (or similar orchestration platforms).
- Strong scripting capabilities in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to drive automation across the stack.
- Demonstrated ability to manage centralized logging, monitoring, and reporting systems (e.g., Datadog, SignalFX, New Relic) and build insightful performance dashboards.
- Preferred certifications include AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
Work Environment and Culture
This role is based in Plano, Texas, and follows a hybrid work model requiring three days onsite per week. Compensation & Location
Salary: $140,000 – $195,000 per year
