Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic infrastructure team in Plano, Texas. This is a hybrid role requiring three days onsite per week, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact environment within the BHHC domain. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in defining our infrastructure system roadmap and developing long-term strategies to manage and scale the services provided by the Infrastructure Platform Administration team. This position is a 3-month contract-to-hire (C2H) engagement, designed for professionals who thrive in fast-paced, evolving technical landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the definition of infrastructure system roadmaps and the development of long-term strategies to manage and scale services.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain infrastructure systems configurations, procedures, and associated training plans to ensure operational excellence.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain reports necessary to carry out the functions of the Systems administration operation, proactively intervening to correct problems.
  • Maintain the build and deployment processes for applications across the organization’s enterprise hybrid cloud environment.
  • Provide 24×7 on-call technical support for infrastructure-related emergencies with a response time of no more than four hours.
  • Create RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with Software Architects and Application Teams to ensure optimal software delivery, application performance, and scalability.
  • Build highly resilient systems that can withstand the demands of a modern enterprise environment.

Required Qualifications and Technical Skills

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a mix of Development and DevOps roles.
  • Proven experience with Cloud Service Providers, with a strong preference for Microsoft Azure.
  • Expertise in Continuous Integration and Continual Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies and tools.
  • Advanced experience with containerization technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, and automation tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Saltstack.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage monitoring, centralized logging, and reporting systems (e.g., Datadog, SignalFX, New Relic).
  • Strong scripting skills in languages relevant to automation and infrastructure management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).

The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment where technical guidance is provided to stakeholders regarding operations, system performance, and workflow analysis. You will be responsible for building dashboards that track application and server performance, ensuring that all systems are scalable and resilient. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage complex projects from inception to completion while maintaining high standards of documentation and communication.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Plano, TX
