Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience to join our dynamic team in Jacksonville, FL. This is an onsite role focused on leveraging Microsoft Azure, Ansible, and Terraform to build robust, scalable, and automated infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Configuration-as-Code (CaC), ensuring that our cloud environments are managed with the highest standards of efficiency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage automated infrastructure using Ansible Tower and Ansible Automation Platform.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using Terraform for Azure cloud services.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration and deployment.
- Administer and troubleshoot complex systems, including networking components, databases, and Windows server environments.
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash to improve operational efficiency.
- Implement and enforce Configuration-as-Code (CaC) principles across all environments to maintain consistency and security.
- Monitor system performance and provide proactive troubleshooting for cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
- Stay current with emerging DevOps trends and technologies to continuously improve our automation framework.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with a significant focus on DevOps and Cloud Engineering.
- Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Azure Cloud services and automation tools.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible Tower and Ansible Automation Platform for large-scale configuration management.
- Strong mastery of Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols, database management, and Windows Server administration.
- Advanced scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Proven track record of implementing CI/CD pipelines and integrating them with various automation tools.
- Solid understanding of security best practices within a cloud-native environment.

A Day in the Life of a Senior DevOps Engineer
In this role, your morning might begin with a stand-up meeting to discuss ongoing infrastructure migrations and pipeline optimizations. You will spend a significant portion of your day writing and refining Terraform modules to ensure that our Azure environment is scalable and resilient. You will also be the go-to expert for Ansible playbooks, helping to automate the configuration of Windows servers and database clusters. Throughout the afternoon, you might collaborate with the security team to integrate automated compliance checks into the CI/CD process or mentor junior engineers on best practices for Infrastructure-as-Code. Your expertise in Python or PowerShell will be called upon to create custom scripts that bridge the gap between disparate automation tools. The day concludes with monitoring system health and ensuring that all deployments are stable and performing as expected. This is a high-visibility role where your contributions to automation and cloud strategy will have a direct impact on the organization’s agility and technical excellence.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year
