Role Overview

The NJ Judiciary is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drupal QA / Full-Stack Drupal Developer to join their technical team in Trenton, NJ. This is a high-impact role focused on ensuring the quality, security, and performance of the state’s Drupal-based web infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating pre-release test scripts and performing both automated and manual testing on complex Drupal websites. This is not an entry-level position; it requires a professional with deep technical roots in Drupal development who has transitioned into or specialized in Quality Assurance and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive automated and manual test scripts specifically designed for Drupal 10 and 11 environments.
  • Architect and maintain automated testing suites using Playwright to ensure end-to-end functionality.
  • Perform rigorous manual testing to identify edge cases and user experience issues that automated tools might miss.
  • Conduct deep-dive troubleshooting and debugging of Drupal applications to resolve performance bottlenecks and functional bugs.
  • Execute Drupal site-building audits and secure code reviews to maintain the integrity of the NJ Judiciary’s digital assets.
  • Collaborate closely with full-stack developers and project stakeholders to align testing strategies with deployment cycles.
  • Ensure all web applications comply with WCAG accessibility standards and state-mandated secure coding practices.
  • Manage version control processes using Git and participate in cloud-hosted environment management.
  • Provide detailed technical documentation and mentorship to junior team members regarding QA best practices.

Technical Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum of 4 to 6 years of professional experience in the Drupal ecosystem. Mandatory skills include expert-level knowledge of Drupal 10/11, Playwright for automation, and proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, and Twig. Experience with Git and modern deployment workflows is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in secure web development and a proven track record of managing QA for large-scale, public-facing websites. A 4-year college degree is highly preferred for this state-level engagement. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of working within a structured government agency environment.

Work Environment and Expectations

This position is based on-site at 25 Market Street, Trenton, NJ. The work schedule is strictly Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM EST. Candidates must be local to the Trenton area as the interview process is strictly in-person and the role requires immediate on-site presence. The initial contract duration is 6 months with a high likelihood of extension based on performance and project needs. The NJ Judiciary values accessibility, security, and reliability, and the Drupal QA lead will be a cornerstone in maintaining these standards across their digital portfolio.
