Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager (Services) to oversee the full lifecycle of software applications. This role involves solution architecture, design, development, integration, performance testing, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for customer satisfaction for critical business systems managed by Digital Engineering. You will collaborate with Digital Product and Digital Delivery teams to establish and execute the software application strategy for your department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of software applications, including solution architecture, design, development, integration, performance testing, and maintenance.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction for assigned business systems.
  • Collaborate with Digital Product and Digital Delivery teams to define and implement software application strategies.
  • Lead and mentor a software development team.
  • Focus on Backend/Services with experience in working with front-end applications.

Required Hard Skills

  • 10+ years of development experience.
  • 8+ years of Java EE experience.
  • 2+ years leading a software development team.
  • Experience with Maven based Spring/Spring Boot (reactive programming a plus).
  • Experience with Microservice architecture and design patterns (event-driven a plus).
  • Experience with relational databases and stored procedure design (NoSQL a plus).
  • Kubernetes, Containers, GitOps and Jenkins experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Agile, DevOps, XP, etc.).

Required Soft Skills

  • Knowledge of computer science or engineering technical concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Ability to communicate and implement technical solutions effectively.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to assist and guide junior staff as necessary.
  • Demonstrate creativity with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in methodologies, tools, best practices, and processes within specific areas of responsibility.

  • This is a contract-to-hire (CTH) position with a duration of 12 months.
  • Interviews will be conducted via Skype.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Miami, FL
