Position Summary: Azure ETL Developer
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) of Georgia is looking for a dedicated ETL Developer with specialized expertise in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. This role is focused on the design, development, and maintenance of robust data pipelines that support critical state-level criminal justice reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate will be a certified Azure professional capable of transforming complex raw data into actionable insights while maintaining the highest standards of data security and governance.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect and implement end-to-end ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory (ADF), including Mapping Data Flows and complex pipeline orchestration.
- Integrate disparate data sources such as on-premise SQL Servers, Azure Blob Storage, REST APIs, and various third-party vendor systems.
- Develop and optimize data warehouses within Azure Synapse Analytics and manage large-scale data storage in Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) Gen2.
- Utilize Azure Functions and Databricks (Python/PySpark) for advanced data transformation and cleansing logic.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git to automate deployment and ensure code quality across environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune ETL job performance to handle high-volume data processing efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal data security regulations, implementing encryption and access controls as required.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical data models.
Required Technical Skills
- Proven experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Synapse.
- Strong proficiency in T-SQL and database design principles.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools like JIRA or Azure Boards.
- Active Microsoft Azure Certifications (DP-203 Data Engineer Associate or AZ-900 Fundamentals).
Work Environment and Logistics
This is a hybrid position based in Atlanta, Georgia. While the majority of the work can be performed remotely, the candidate must be a local resident as onsite visits to the CJCC office (104 Marietta St NW) are required 1-2 times per month. The interview process will be conducted virtually. This is a long-term contract engagement with an initial duration of 12 months and a high likelihood of extension.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $149,000 – $155,000 per year
