Role Overview

The ETQ Developer position is a specialized technical role focused on the administration, development, and optimization of the ETQ Reliance platform. As a critical component of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS), the ETQ platform ensures compliance, safety, and operational excellence across various business units. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of ETQ applications, from initial requirement gathering and workflow design to deployment and long-term maintenance. This position is fully remote and requires a candidate who can work independently while maintaining high standards of technical documentation and system integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • ETQ Configuration and Workflow Development: Design and implement complex workflows within the ETQ Reliance environment. This includes configuring form layouts, section settings, and inheritance rules to ensure data consistency and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Environment Management: Oversee the promotion of configurations across Development, Test, and Production environments. You will be responsible for ensuring that all changes are thoroughly tested and that the production environment remains stable and compliant.
  • Database Administration and Integration: Perform database refreshes and manage SQL-driven integrations. You will troubleshoot complex queries, optimize stored procedures, and manage ETL jobs to ensure seamless data flow between ETQ and other enterprise systems like ERP or PLM.
  • System Upgrades and Migrations: Lead the technical execution of system upgrades, specifically moving from version 2020B to CG2025. Additionally, you will play a key role in planning and executing the migration to the ETQ NXG platform, ensuring that legacy data and workflows are preserved or improved.
  • Web Services and Infrastructure: Manage Apache Tomcat configurations and web services that support ETQ integrations. You will monitor system performance and resolve any infrastructure-related bottlenecks.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Quality Assurance and Compliance teams to translate business processes into technical requirements. You will provide expert guidance on the capabilities and limitations of the ETQ platform.

Technical Requirements

  • ETQ Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience as an ETQ Developer with a comprehensive understanding of the Reliance architecture. You must be proficient in advanced configuration techniques, including the use of Python or Java for custom scripting within the platform if required.
  • SQL Proficiency: Strong skills in SQL Server or Oracle database management. You should be comfortable writing and debugging complex scripts and understanding relational database schemas.
  • Integration Skills: Experience with web services (REST/SOAP) and middleware technologies used for enterprise application integration.
  • Upgrade Experience: A proven track record of managing enterprise software upgrades, particularly within the ETQ ecosystem.
  • Remote Proficiency: Ability to manage tasks effectively in a distributed team environment, utilizing tools like Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams for collaboration.

Compliance and Quality Standards

In the context of ETQ development, understanding the regulatory landscape is paramount. The developer must ensure that all configurations adhere to industry-specific standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or FDA 21 CFR Part 11. This involves maintaining rigorous audit trails, electronic signatures, and validation documentation. You will be expected to participate in system validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) to ensure that the software performs as intended in a regulated environment.

Future-Proofing and Innovation

As the organization looks toward the future, your role will involve more than just maintenance. You will be tasked with identifying opportunities for process improvement through automation and advanced data analytics. By leveraging the latest features in ETQ CG2025 and preparing for the cloud-native capabilities of NXG, you will help the organization move from reactive quality control to proactive quality assurance. This includes exploring the use of AI and machine learning integrations within the QMS to predict quality trends and prevent non-conformances before they occur.

Special Requirements

Remote role. Focus on ETQ Reliance 2020B to CG2025 upgrades and NXG migration.
