Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Telecom Expense Financial Analyst / Project Manager to lead telecom cost optimization initiatives for a major transportation client. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role requiring deep expertise in telecom expense management, data analysis, and vendor negotiations. You will work with large telecom datasets (e.g., AT&T, Verizon), identify cost-saving opportunities, audit invoices, and drive measurable financial improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze large telecom billing datasets (wireline, wireless, international, roaming, IoT/M2M).
- Identify billing errors, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Audit and reconcile invoices; manage disputes and corrections with carriers.
- Lead vendor negotiations (e.g., Verizon, AT&T, international carriers) to reduce costs.
- Develop and execute end-to-end cost-saving initiatives.
- Build financial models, dashboards, and reports to track spend and savings.
- Create and maintain Excel-based analysis, Power BI dashboards, and presentations.
- Implement invoice validation controls and automation.
- Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Operations teams.
- Document processes, playbooks, and vendor performance metrics.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong experience in Telecom Expense Management (TEM).
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets and billing records.
- Advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, large data handling).
- Proficiency in Tableau / Power BI.
- SQL experience is preferred.
- Experience with tools like ServiceNow and PeopleSoft.
- Strong financial analysis and cost optimization background.
- Experience in invoice auditing, vendor payments, and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with public sector clients (e.g., transportation agencies).
- Background in telecom contract negotiation and rate optimization.
- Familiarity with international telecom pricing and routing strategies.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $65 – $85 per year (Estimated)
