Project Overview: Financial System Modernization

We are seeking a Senior Financial Systems Business Analyst for a long-term, high-priority initiative in Tallahassee, FL. This project involves a large-scale modernization of legacy accounting and cash management systems, replacing them with a state-of-the-art enterprise solution. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the continuity of financial operations while facilitating the transition to the new system. This position requires a unique blend of deep financial domain knowledge and technical business analysis expertise.

Core Responsibilities

  • Facilitate intensive workshops and working sessions with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and key stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
  • Conduct comprehensive impact analysis of system changes on existing accounting processes and integrated business systems.
  • Develop and document detailed business processes using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) standards.
  • Create and maintain a robust Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure all business needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Draft technical process crosswalks and detailed business requirement documents (BRDs).
  • Design comprehensive test strategies, including functional, integration, regression, and ad hoc testing plans.
  • Develop detailed use cases and test cases to validate system functionality against business requirements.
  • Execute quality assurance testing and manage the end-to-end defect lifecycle using JIRA.
  • Provide regular, detailed status reports to program leadership regarding project milestones and risks.
  • Maintain essential project artifacts, including issue logs, change logs, decision logs, and action item registers.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating with business users and ensuring the system meets operational needs.
  • Assist in ‘train-the-trainer’ sessions to facilitate knowledge transfer to the broader organization.
  • Collaborate with developers and functional analysts to deliver scalable solutions leveraging Oracle eBusiness Suite (eBS).

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of overall professional experience, with at least 5 years specifically in a Business Analyst role.
  • Proven experience working on large-scale enterprise software implementations, preferably within the public sector or financial services.
  • Expert-level proficiency in BPMN and business process documentation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with JIRA for defect tracking and project management.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and MS Visio for project scheduling and process mapping.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Professional certification such as ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, or PBA is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite (eBS) and related financial modules is a significant advantage.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $115,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Tallahassee, FL
