Role Overview
We are seeking multiple highly skilled Front-End Engineers to join our client, a premier large-scale retailer in downtown Seattle. This is a mission-critical role focused on building a modern, high-performance Point of Sale (POS) system from the ground up. As a Front-End Engineer, you will be at the forefront of digital transformation, ensuring that the retail experience is seamless, responsive, and robust for millions of users. Your primary focus will be on React.js development, leveraging modern JavaScript (ES6+) to create dynamic user interfaces. You will collaborate closely with back-end teams to integrate RESTful APIs and ensure that the front-end architecture is scalable and maintainable.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain responsive, high-performance web applications using React.js.
- Deliver seamless user experiences for a mission-critical POS platform at scale.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our platform remains competitive.
Technical Requirements
- Strong proficiency in React.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Extensive experience with front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs and integration with back-end services.
- Familiarity with state management libraries such as Redux, Context API, or similar.
- Experience with modern build tools (Webpack, Babel) and version control systems (Git).
- Ability to work effectively in an agile environment, participating in sprints and daily stand-ups.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in retail or e-commerce environments, specifically with POS systems.
- Knowledge of the Java ecosystem and how it interacts with front-end frameworks.
- Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with TypeScript for building type-safe applications.
- Understanding of server-side rendering and performance optimization techniques.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position located in Downtown Seattle. Candidates must be comfortable working in a collaborative office environment. Due to the nature of the project and team coordination, only candidates currently residing in the Pacific Time Zone will be considered for these positions. Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
