Job Overview:
DevRabbit IT Solutions Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced GCP Big Query Admin with a strong background in operations support for a critical Verizon project. This is an immediate, onsite requirement, and the candidate must be willing to relocate to either Ashburn, VA, or Irving, TX. The role involves administering, supporting, and optimizing Google BigQuery environments, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support Google BigQuery environments, including datasets, tables, and access controls.
- Monitor and optimize query performance, storage, and slot utilization to ensure efficient operation.
- Manage BigQuery costs through effective capacity planning, quota management, and usage analysis.
- Provide L3 production support for BigQuery incidents and data-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to query failures, performance degradation, and quota limitations.
- Implement and enforce security best practices using IAM and dataset-level permissions to protect sensitive data.
- Support batch and streaming data ingestion pipelines into BigQuery, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure data availability, reliability, and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborate closely with data engineering and analytics teams to establish and promote platform best practices.
- Work with stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps for BigQuery environments.
- Participate in on-call rotation for production support as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 11+ years of mandatory experience in Big Data administration, with a significant focus on Google BigQuery.
- Proven experience as a BigQuery DBA with strong operations support capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, particularly BigQuery.
- Experience with administering datasets, tables, and managing access controls via IAM.
- Proficiency in monitoring and optimizing query performance, storage, and slot utilization.
- Experience in managing cloud costs and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for production incidents and performance issues.
- Understanding of data ingestion pipelines (batch and streaming).
- Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Ashburn, VA, or Irving, TX, and willingness to relocate.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 per year (Estimated)
