Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to lead the design, development, and execution of robust testing strategies for cloud-based web applications. This role requires strong expertise in test automation, API testing, and quality engineering practices, along with the ability to work in complex, cross-functional environments. You will be responsible for defining and implementing comprehensive test strategies, developing and executing test plans, and performing various types of testing including functional, regression, end-to-end (E2E), performance, security, and usability testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement comprehensive test strategies, frameworks, and best practices aligned with organizational goals and industry standards.
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and automation scripts for cloud-based and web applications.
  • Perform various types of testing including functional, regression, end-to-end (E2E), performance, security, and usability testing.
  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Conduct API testing using REST endpoints to validate backend services.
  • Monitor, triage, and resolve production incidents, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and production issues, and implement preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Track and report defects, test metrics, and quality insights to stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and automation capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in software testing/QA.
  • Strong experience in test automation and quality engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with web application testing in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in API testing (RESTful services).
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and QA processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including logs and storage services.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems testing, including CAN signals and embedded integration testing.
  • Familiarity with vehicle electrical concepts (e.g., PWM, logic gates).
  • Experience with test-driven development (TDD) or similar practices.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $110,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Dearborn, MI
