Role Overview: GCP Solution Architect

Pacer Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced GCP Solution Architect to join our global consulting team for a critical 6-month contract engagement. This role is designed for a technical leader who excels at the intersection of cloud architecture and advanced mathematical optimization. As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a specific focus on optimization modeling for complex industrial applications. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while being anchored in Piscataway, NJ, providing a unique opportunity to influence high-impact projects in the scientific manufacturing sector.

Technical Specialization: Optimization Modeling

The core of this role involves sophisticated optimization modeling. Candidates must demonstrate high proficiency with the Gurobi Optimization Solver, a leading tool for solving massive-scale linear and integer programming problems. You will be expected to utilize the Gurobi Python API (gurobipy) to formulate and solve linear (LP), integer (IP), and mixed-integer programming (MIP) problems. Beyond simple formulation, the successful candidate must have a deep understanding of model robustness and debugging techniques to ensure that mathematical models perform reliably under varying data conditions and constraints. This expertise is vital for optimizing supply chains, production schedules, and distribution networks.

Programming and Data Engineering Requirements

  • Python Development: Advanced coding skills in Python are mandatory, as it serves as the primary language for both optimization scripts and general data processing.
  • Data Handling: Proficiency in SQL is required for querying and managing input data from various relational databases. You must be adept at data pre-preparation and manipulation using industry-standard libraries such as Pandas and Numpy.
  • Cloud Architecture: A comprehensive understanding of GCP services is essential to ensure that optimization models are integrated into a secure, scalable, and performant cloud environment.

Industry Context and Domain Expertise

A significant advantage for this role is a background in scientific manufacturing processes. We are looking for professionals who have previous experience working with the data and processes associated with the manufacture and distribution of vaccines and medicines. Compensation & Location
