Position Overview: Senior GCP Vertex AI & Gemini Engineer
Tanisha Systems Inc is currently seeking a highly specialized and experienced Senior AI/ML Engineer to join our client’s CommTech vertical in Parsippany, NJ. As we progress into 2026, the integration of advanced generative AI and multimodal models has become a critical component of enterprise infrastructure. This onsite role is designed for a technical leader who can bridge the gap between experimental AI research and robust, production-grade engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting and operationalizing cutting-edge solutions using the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, specifically focusing on Vertex AI and the Gemini suite of models. With a requirement of over 8 years of professional experience, we are looking for a veteran in the field who understands the complexities of scaling AI in a corporate environment.
Core Technical Responsibilities
- GCP Vertex AI & Gemini Operationalization: You will lead the hands-on efforts to operationalize Gemini multimodal models within a production environment. This involves more than just model deployment; it requires the creation of sophisticated, secure, and scalable model inference pipelines. You will be tasked with ensuring that these models can handle real-world data loads while maintaining the highest standards of performance and reliability.
- Conversational AI & Integration: A key aspect of this role is the integration of conversational AI flows into existing business systems. You will design and implement the logic that allows these models to interact seamlessly with users and other automated processes, ensuring a fluid and intelligent user experience.
- MLOps and Lifecycle Management: In the 2026 landscape, the longevity of an AI solution depends on its maintenance. You will implement comprehensive MLOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) for machine learning models. Your responsibilities will include model monitoring, drift detection, and managing the entire model lifecycle to ensure sustained accuracy and relevance.
- Neo4j & Knowledge Graph Engineering: This position requires deep expertise in Neo4j data modeling and Cypher query authoring. You will be responsible for designing a production-grade knowledge graph specifically for HTS/tariff book logic. This involves implementing complex graph algorithms, performance tuning, and managing real-time retrieval patterns to support customs logic and decision-making processes.
- Backend & API Development: You will build and maintain high-availability microservices using FastAPI. These services will serve as the backbone for conversational flows, model inference, and knowledge graph retrieval, exposing REST and GraphQL endpoints to the broader enterprise architecture.
Industry Context and Team Dynamics
The CommTech vertical presents unique challenges that require a blend of telecommunications knowledge and advanced data science. You will start as part of a core team of 2-3 engineers, covering ML engineering, graph engineering, and backend development. This foundation is designed for long-term production support and future scale-out. You will be expected to contribute to the architectural vision, ensuring that the systems built today are capable of supporting iterative enhancements and the future integration of autonomous agents. Your role will involve significant collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that AI initiatives align with broader business goals and security requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of overall experience in IT and Software Engineering, with a strong focus on AI/ML.
- Proven expertise in the GCP ecosystem, particularly Vertex AI and Gemini models.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and the FastAPI framework for microservices.
- Extensive experience with Neo4j, Cypher, and Knowledge Graph architecture.
- Strong understanding of MLOps principles, including CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
- Experience with secure service integration, including OAuth, JWT, and high-availability design patterns.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an onsite, collaborative environment in Parsippany, NJ.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year
