Position Summary: GIS COTS Specialist and Administrator
Concept Software & Services Inc is looking for a GIS Admin 3 / GIS COTS Specialist for a long-term, 12+ month remote engagement. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization’s spatial data infrastructure, focusing on the deployment and optimization of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions within the ESRI ecosystem. The successful candidate will serve as a high-level administrator, technical advisor, and solution architect for diverse GIS initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- COTS Solution Management: Lead the development, configuration, and maintenance of ESRI COTS products, including ESRI Field Maps, Survey123, Collector, and Operations Dashboards. You will ensure these tools are optimized for field data collection and real-time situational awareness.
- System Administration: Serve as a lead administrator for GIS systems and spatial databases. This includes performing hardware and software installations, routine maintenance, and version upgrades. You will be responsible for monitoring system status and ensuring data integrity across the enterprise.
- Architecture and Advisory: Advise on GIS architecture solutioning, helping the organization scale its spatial capabilities. You will work with project sponsors to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Lead efforts to resolve complex CADD/GIS hardware and software issues. You will manage IT helpdesk tickets related to GIS and work with vendors for repairs and fixes.
- Training and Documentation: Develop comprehensive training materials and lead functional courses to educate staff on GIS concepts and tool usage. You will also maintain documentation for system standards and inventory charts.
- Data Governance: Manage data backups, archives, and retrieval processes to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ESRI Expertise: Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically designing and administering ESRI COTS products (Survey123, Dashboard, Field Maps).
- ArcGIS Online: Minimum of 2 years of experience administering an ESRI ArcGIS Online organization, including user management, credit monitoring, and security configuration.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system problems with minimal supervision. Experience with CADD integration is a significant plus.
- Communication: Strong ability to communicate technical status and risks to non-technical managers and project stakeholders.
This is a 12-month contract with a high likelihood of extension, offering a stable and challenging environment for a GIS professional looking to leverage the latest ESRI technologies in a fully remote capacity.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $115,000 – $165,000 per year (Estimated)
