Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing processes, and costed components to assess substantial transformation and tariff shift rules
- Classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ensure alignment with COO determinations
- Support preferential and non-preferential origin determinations and issue or validate Certificates of Origin
- Maintain and audit origin documentation, supplier affidavits, and long-term supplier declarations
- Partner with sourcing, engineering, procurement, and suppliers to gather accurate manufacturing and origin data
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, Country/Region specific customs valuation, marking, and labeling requirements
- Monitor changes in global trade regulations and assess impact to COO, duty exposure, and supply chain strategy
- Support customs audits, prior disclosures, and internal compliance reviews
- Manage duty savings initiatives including FTA qualification, duty drawback, and tariff mitigation strategies
- Provide guidance on COO and trade compliance to internal stakeholders and global partners
- Maintain trade compliance systems and databases to ensure accurate reporting and traceability
- Resolve customs issues related to origin disputes, verifications, or requests for information (CF28/CF29)
- Prepare reports and metrics related to trade compliance, COO accuracy, and operational performance
Compensation & Location
Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)
