Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud BigQuery AI Data Platform Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, architecting, and implementing scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will be instrumental in building and optimizing our data lakehouse and enterprise data warehouse, integrating AI/ML capabilities, and ensuring robust data governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and Design Data Platforms: Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade GCP-based data lakehouse and data warehouse ecosystems, leveraging tools like BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage (GCS), and Dataproc.
  • Develop Data Pipelines: Architect and guide the implementation of robust ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and streaming data (structured and unstructured) using services like Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow).
  • Implement AI/ML Solutions: Collaborate with data science teams to operationalize machine learning and generative AI models using Vertex AI and BigQuery ML, including training, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Optimize Performance and Cost: Define storage layers, optimize query performance, and manage costs using BigQuery features like partitioning, clustering, and capacity planning.
  • Ensure Data Governance and Quality: Define and enforce data architecture best practices, including data governance, security (IAM), data quality rules, metadata management, and lineage considerations.
  • Modernize Data Architecture: Drive the adoption of modern lakehouse principles using open table formats such as Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Hudi.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing data platforms on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong expertise in BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Dataproc, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.
  • Experience with AI/ML operationalization using Vertex AI and BigQuery ML.
  • Knowledge of modern data lakehouse principles and technologies (Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi).
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, and data quality best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Genuine experience and genuine visa required.
  • LinkedIn profile required for verification.
