Position: HashiCorp Vault Engineer
We are looking for a skilled HashiCorp Vault Engineer to join our team for a remote position. This role focuses on managing and securing sensitive data using HashiCorp Vault and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement, configure, and manage HashiCorp Vault for secrets management, encryption, and identity access.
- Provision and manage Vault infrastructure, potentially using Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Configure and manage Vault using configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Utilize Git for source code management and collaborate using GitHub Actions for workflow automation.
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based environments hosting Vault and related services.
- Implement and enforce security best practices, including encryption, key management, and access control.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA) by implementing Vault in a compliance-driven environment.
- Configure and troubleshoot network settings related to Vault and its integrations, ensuring secure network configurations.
- Integrate Vault with cloud-based services and infrastructure.
- Collaborate effectively in a remote or hybrid environment, demonstrating strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other HashiCorp Tools: Experience with HashiCorp Consul or Nomad is a plus.
- Proficient with Terraform for provisioning Vault infrastructure, and experience with other IaC tools like CloudFormation or Pulumi.
- Experience with tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for managing Vault configurations.
- Proficiency with Git for source code management and collaboration, including experience with GitHub Actions for automating workflows.
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration, including experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and security hardening.
- Ability to manage and troubleshoot Linux-based environments hosting Vault and related services.
- Understanding of security best practices, including encryption, key management, and access control.
- Experience with implementing Vault in a compliance-driven environment (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Understanding of networking concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and secure network configurations.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot network settings related to Vault and its integrations.
- Familiarity with integrating Vault with cloud-based services and infrastructure.
- Certifications: HashiCorp Certified: Vault Associate or HashiCorp Certified: Vault Operations Professional.
- Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote or hybrid environment.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $170,000 per year (Estimated)
